Greetings! I am happy to introduce myself, call me Dr. Lisa.
By trade, I'm a Chiropractor and an Acupuncturist. I'm also spent a few years as a part-time adjunct college lecturer. I call myself a holistic health practitioner because what I do goes beyond a typical chiropractic or acupuncture session. My intention is not just to help alleviate symptoms but show others how they can become their own best healer by learning how to pay attention to their body's signals and approaching wellness care from a mind-body-spirit perspective.
A bit more about me and my journey
As a child I knew I wanted to help people. I know.... doesn't everyone!? My early interest in traditional medicine changed as I was faced with a pivotal decision to further pursue medical school. Always interested in being a bit different and in awe of natural remedies, I looked into alternative medicine.
(Side note, It's okay to be different!)
In 2001, I enrolled in Southern California University of Health Sciences of which I later received a Doctoral degree in Chiropractic and a Master's in Acupuncture & Oriental Medicine, in their dual degree program.
Acupuncture & traditional chinese Medicine changed my life.
In 2001, I received my first acupuncture session for asthma. Having grown up with respiratory challenges, I tried every conventional treatment under the sun. Acupuncture and Chinese medicine gave me relief like never before. Since it worked so well for asthma, I decided to seek treatment for uterine fibroids. After a series of sessions, for the first time in a long time my cycle was regulated and symptoms related to fibroids improved. I soon after knew that sharing what worked for my health and wellness was part of my personal mission.
I had to go deeper.
Still, there was a missing tool in my alternative medicine tool box. When I discovered that Chakras would help me strengthen my mind-body connection and dig deeper to the root of my health issues, I knew it would be another layer for healing that I would add to my practice. I'm a strong believer that affirmations can set the body up for profound healing and I love working with essential oils which are wonderful for natural healing on a multitude of levels.
Presently, I see patients who have conditions ranging from low back pain and difficult periods to sinus issues and digestive upset and more. Whether the cause is from stress, injury, trauma or repetative overuse, we get to the root of the issue.
I believe that life is for living.
I believe in getting in touch with your soul's calling, living with freedom and abundance and taking the road less traveled.
I am blessed to have a supportive husband who loves being on the receiving end of my healing and shares my life philosophy. We have a sweet little girl who already knows her quinoa from her lentils and understands the importance of wellness.
I'm always honored when someone choses to work with me. Whether you subscribe to my blog, become a patient or join one of my wellness programs I thank you for the opportunity to connect.
May the Force be with you ;)
