6 Holistic wellness tips for the Spring season

This is my FAVORITE time of year. I love the newness of life.... fresh buds, baby animals, the winds, the longer days... I JUST LOVE SPRING!

According to traditional Chinese medicine philosophy, we should gear up to nurture our bodies in alignment with seasonal changes.

Below I've listed several best practices to keep your wellness in tip top shape.

Nurture your liver- This is a great time to do a cleanse or detox and support the liver's detoxification duty.  Clearing up any liver stagnation means better fat metabolism, ideal hormone regulation if excess is present, clearer skin, more energy and more...

Manage anger- The liver has tendency to respond to anger and cause heat/inflammation symptoms, according to Chinese medicine theory. Stress management and meditation should be written into your daily routine if feeling a little more irritable than normal.

Watch the wind- Spring winds carry lots of pollen, dust and other allergens. Keep your immune system strong to combat seasonal allergies. Contact me for specific supplement support for seasonal allergies.

Honor your tendons- Tendons attach muscle to bone and you need to protect them for joint health. Stretch, do yoga and warm up your body appropriately before a work out.

Eat green and sour foods- The liver is associated with the sour flavor. Water with lemon, sauerkraut and other fermented veggies will make the liver happy. You can never go wrong getting in enough leafy greens.  Try mixing it up and adding cilantro or parsley to your salad.
