Healing low back pain and gluteal pain, a mind-body perspective

I get lots of patients with butt issues. Truly, they live with pains in their butt.

The clenching pain that occurs in the center of the gluteus is one of the most common musculoskeletal complaints.

This pain also finds its way around to the front of the thigh right in the groin region.

It's like a huge hand clenches the hip, where fingers dig in the center of the butt cheek and the thumb digs into the groin just inside of the hip bone.

It can be one of the most annoying pains making it difficult to sit or stand for long periods of time.

The front hip flexor muscles and gluteal muscles seek to stabilize the pelvis and hips.  If one is off by design, the other has to follow.

The butt (gluteus medius and minims) and front (hip flexors) muscles are involved with balance, flexibility and stabilization while stationary or moving.

Of course, acupuncture, deep massage and stretching can help.  I often suggest yoga for deep stretching and re-establishing core strength and stabilization.

But since I am a holistic practitioner....

what also needs to also be addressed are issues around love and money.

Stress related to matters of the heart and matters of the pocket book often find their way to the hip region and settle in nicely (though unwanted) there. This is the area of the second Chakra which has a relationship with work, finance, interpersonal relationships (romantic or one-on-one platonic with family or friends), pleasure, passion and creativity.

when there is lack of balance, lack of flexibility or stabilization you can often expect that there will be a pain in the butT.

In this case, I recommend some soul searching and introspection.  Perhaps contemplate the following:

  1. What do you need to be fulfilled at work?
  2. How will you break past challenges with finances?
  3. How can you create a strategy for increasing cash flow?
  4. Are you happy in your relationships?
  5. What will it take for you to feel secure and happy in your relationships?
  6. How can you increase the pleasure in life?
  7. Do you have a good work-life balance?
  8. How can you work more closely in alignment with your passion?

Happy introspecting and stretching.  Hoping you've enjoyed this post and wish you the best with your butt, front, love and money ;)
